Resizing Photos; Attaching Photos to Posts and Threads
-
I spent a few hours and put together some instructions on resizing pictures, and attaching pictures to forum posts and threads...
I thought that the members here would have an interest in these, since it is topic that commonly comes up from time to time...

Maybe you should have named the blog "Resizing and Posting Photos for Dummies. LOL

But, seriously, many thanks for posting this info - it's going to help a lot.

He meant that in a nice way, Doug... see?
I've noticed I haven't needed to resize my photos for a number of months. Either the web ninjas built in a resizer, or the incoming filter now accepts shots bigger than my typical 1 Meg.Workin Stiff -
Rick, I've just had a chance to glance at your instruction sheet and it looks good (and will be very helpful). One question (and I may have missed this):
Does everyone have MS Office Picture Manager if they only have Windows?
I use a light version of Photoshop, but I have always assumed there is some sort of "minimal" photo manager on everyone's computer. Is Picture Manager it? -

I don't have MS Picture Manger, even though I've got Word & Excel.
When resizing images, I've been using an app (FastImageResizer) downloaded from a site referenced in a previous thread here.Workin Stiff -

Understood, I was merely writing about what I use. Anyone with MS Office actually has the MS Office Picture Manager, they may just need to go through the advanced installation, select and load it - as it is not part of a standard installation.Rick, I've just had a chance to glance at your instruction sheet and it looks good (and will be very helpful). Members that already use other utilities may still want to read the other item on attaching pictures. I use the more complex method, as I like to have my pictures online and available for attachment. Not only that, but it also allows making comments adjacent to the pictures that I attach. -
Thanks Rick!

Rick-
I think it's time to find a job. You've got WAY too much time on your hands.
Just kidding. Great idea and thanks for posting this. -

You're right! And that's part of the reason I am able to spend so much time in front of the computer - I'm looking. Problem is, I am not getting any responses to my job applications or resumes that are submitted...
On the two documents -
If anyone has any ideas, follow-up, etc., to these instructions - feel free to add it to them, as they are considered 'blogs'... -
Your screen shots are priceless for those who don't have alot of windows experience. Thanks for taking the considerable effort to post this... hopefully it will result in more pictures being posted from those folks intimidated by the process.Workin Stiff
