Hello, this a great forum thanks to all. I'm looking for some input on some numbers on a car I'm looking to purchase. I have looked at the Burr list (thanks for all your hard work) My question is the 80 on the begining seems odd when the engine number looks correct. Thanks Jake

Looking at this Registration card is that 8096752 the tag number? It's hard to read but does it say tag number above the 809 number? Would this just be the license plate registration card? The 36925 would be the VIN number or ID number. Just a thought. Bill

I believe it does say "tag number" above (yes a bit hard to read) Is it possible that it could be a Canadian production number prefix 80. I think I read that somewhere but now I can't find it again. Thanks Jake

If the car were Canadian production, there would be the letter "C" after the 80.

If that were the VIN, then the vehicle would be a 1938 Commercial Model, ie pickup, panel or taxi or touring sedan.

That 80 number is the license plate number.
