Rear Engine Mounts

1949 Dodge Club Coupe with Fluid Drive;
Is it possible to change the rear mounts without doing something drastic, like removing the transmission.
I took the bolts out and jacked up thre transmission, but there doesn't seem to be enough room to remove the big metal washer that has the spacer tube attached to it.
Is there something here I'm not seeing.
Also, the inspection cover for the fluid coupling and clutch. Are there more bolts than the 6 in the bottom of it to hold it on?
I took those out and it seems as tight as it was.
My clutch seems to be hanging and reluctant to engage. It does, but slowly -
