OK: Pick-up for sale again.
-
I bought the 52 Wasp in Indy. We're exited: we"re flying out to drive it home at the end of the month.
So, I need to sell the 46 Pick up: It runs and drives, has all new brakes, tires, shocks, tune-up, bed wood, blah blah blah. It did overheat again last weekend (at 55) and burped up another mouse nest. It's a good solid project that's pretty close to being a daily driver. I'll take new photos and list it on ebay Sunday for a 5 day auction if nobody here wants it (I'm listing my Model T Roadster pick-up too). I'm thinking $4000. would take it. I'm near Richmond, VA. Anybody interested?

Here it is; There's a couple bids and no reserve, so it has a new home.

Good luck! If I didn't already have a project in my workshop and another 'in the wings', this would be more than a bit tempting!
-
I second that. This looks like one of the better deals I've seen on a truck project.
-
Looks like a good solid working truck - wouldn't take much to drive it home, I'd say. Bring a spare radiator and change it out would solve the mouse nest overheating problem so you could drive it home.

(Salvaged it off of the Hudson pickup frame that way...) -
If I wasn't in such an economic funk - that truck wouldn't have made it to e-bay. I love it.
Dangit, I detest being a tire-kicker.

Funny, no one mention that it has a wide block engine in it, I also see the build out at # 2 cylinder. Could that be a 55 or 56 engine?? Walt.I bought the 52 Wasp in Indy. We're exited: we"re flying out to drive it home at the end of the month.

funnier than that, is that it has a narrow block head. are there cooling or sealing problems doing that? did they build 232 and 262 replacement engines with the hash casting? or would this be a 308 with a 50 232 head?Funny, no one mention that it has a wide block engine in it, I also see the build out at # 2 cylinder. See this thread, along with the auction sale description. Could it be that use of the 'wrong head'(?) is at least partially responsible for the overheating issue?

-But when I posted the engine serial number here (which I don't have handy at work) I understood that the consensus was it came from a '50 pacemaker and was therefore a narrow 232. Did I get that wrong?
