    Well, I might have guessed...IE has a way...but a bit harder of course. Go to the large image and right click, choose PROPERTIES. When the dialog box opens, highlight the URL and copy. Then past as normal in the Forum. :rolleyes:

    I guess I'm more of a car guy then a computer guy. All of this seems to have gotten more complicated rather than easier. I don't think I'm alone either. It used to be I would log on to the forum and there would be twenty or thirty people in, now there are four or five? Maybe everyone is just spread out into the "garage" or "blog" areas? I don't know. I'm ok with spending an hour on here a day, but I can't sit here for two or three trying to find things and see pictures. Moving my pictures from my camera to the computer, to the "garage", then to a thread on the forum, but first make sure it's formated correctly and that I click the right box?! ... :( ... I hate to say it, but I think this might just be too much for me. I guess I'm just too much of a car guy and not enough of a computer guy. :(

    If it's any consolation, I'm right there with 'ya. Ted's done a great job trying to teach us computer-illiterates how to do it, along with Rick, and I still can't seem to make it work. Best I can do is post a link to the pic, so that's the way it's going to be for a while.



    By the way, my car is calling to me, too . . .;)

    Keep in mind that we are not looking to make it harder. The main goal is not to have six different ways to post an image. The old method was killing us with spam and malicious code hacks. In addition, we do want people to use the Garage to post images....in the same way people use Photobucket or any other image posting system. Now, don't loose hope...the cement is not dry on how the process works. I have people working on video instruction now...that will help some. I have 2 guys looking at making the process easy...but with the needed security. Hang in there we will get something works for you. :D

    Ok, ok, I was a bit frustrated before. I'm trying to learn here, but I don't want this to take up all of my time either. God knows I should be doing other things. ... So I started a "garage" space but I still can't post a picture. Even though I copy it, when I get in the forum and right click, the "paste" thingy is not bold, so it won't let me click on it. Even though the test picture that I "copied" is in my "garage"? This is very frustrating for me and I think I will sit back and let others articulate better what I'm trying to convey. Hopefully I can learn from what they have to say and post a stupid picture! Some day! :)



    As for Ted W., thank you for your patience. I'm sure there is a lot more to all of this than I understand. I also can see that what you are doing is expanding and improving the forum/web site. With all do respect, I hope you keep in mind that many of us (me in particular) don't know much about computers, and really don't want to. No offense, I'm old school.:) ... I also see that others have figured this picture thing out with no problems at all.:p Maybe they are smarter than me.:cool:

    The first part, setting up the folder, only needs to be done once. After you have that configured, you only need to upload the picture, and copy the associated information into the place you want the picture to be...

    Also, as far as picture posting, I have the same problem. "Paste" is grayed out. Guess I'll take a look at Ted's video link he posted.

    Let me count the ways......to post photos!

    1) Goto Motorhood and open a photo album section in your garage. Upload images there and link paste the image links into the forum.

    2) Goto the User CP in the Forum and make a photo album. Upload your images and link paste them into the forum.

    3) Throw-Back Mode, go the site help tab on the main navbar and select File Upload Center and follow the directions.

    4) You can still post links out of the Site Photo Gallery for a while longer.

    5) You can upload images to "some place" on the web, "PhotoBucket" or other site and paste images into the forums using a URL.

    I think that covers the photo issues. :o

    Make sure the URL link is bracketed by [IMG][/IMG]



    OR, just click in the YELLOW icon that says Insert Image and paste the link the popup box and it will automatically include the IMG code.

    I'm trying to join the Hudsontech group and when I click on the "Join Group" button I get a pop-up asking me if I really want to join (and I do) but the window doesn't appear to contain an "OK" button or "Continue" button so I can carry on. I'm running IE6 here at work and haven't tried at home where I have IE8.

    Any ideas?

    Ted,

    I see they haven't made any progress on the page loading/rendering issues.

    It's easily re-creatable, and a simple compare of the html source code clearly shows the differences between the 1st page load and after a re-fresh.

    If you can give me an email, I can zip these files up and send them to you - if it would help resolve these rendering problems any faster.

    I find I don't spend hardly any time out here on the new site because I literally have to refresh each page I navigate to to be able to see the content correctly.

    Yup, I think you've got the hang of it...:D

    Whoa! I'd be hard-pressed to decide who had more 'rust in the rear' (car of course... :rolleyes: ;) ), you or Dan (Rambos Ride)! If you haven't taken a look at his website yet, you probably should. I'm sure you'll find it interesting, considering what you're going through right now...

    I load IE8 and did not see anything right off expect the pop dialog box was under a layer and I fixed that. But, I want to see what you are seeing.

    Thank you Ted. Per your advise, I'm now using myGarage for posting photos, but it doesn't hurt to have a secondary source to fall back on...

    Checked history, and see that the pictures previously uploaded there for for posts/threads are now working too. :D
