Lower trim stainless cost update.

    Hi all:

Let you know I am moving forward on getting the stainless trim remade for the lower fenders, doors and quarter panels on 48-49 and 51-53 for coupe and sedans.

It will all be made out of stainless steel and will be able to be polished or painted. Am getting an example in the next 2-3 weeks on how it will look after it is formed and not polished.

Now dont hold me to these price but it is looking like prices for a coupe full set (6 pieces) will be around $560 and a sedan around $650 (8 pieces).

Individually front fender is about $60, coupe door $110, coupe quarter panel $135. Sedan door $95 each and sedan quarter about $110. each. Will be a price break as above if you want a full set.

Polishing price will be additional and determined by a polisher, which I will have a better idea of next week. But I am anticipating that a unpolished set can be polish on your own and will be semi bright when formed for the above prices.

Thanks to Bill Albright and his award this year it helps put a dent into start up cost and dies for this project.

    Will keep you posted

    Thanks Russ

Russ, could you clarify exactly what trim it is that you are reproducing? Is it the moldings that cover the screws that pull the fenders down on the bottom and are painted on the 53s ,i.e.,the ones all the body shops just ripped off& chucked to remove a fender?Or, the 2" trim between the Hornet rocket and the "pork chop"?

Ron, it is these "the ones all the body shops just ripped off& chucked to remove a fender" You should be able to scuff, etch and paint them for the 51-53 application.

Russ, this is a really great project and a very appropriate use of some of the Albright money. Hope it all goes well.
