Paint Color Help....

    Hi

I am ready to paint the Hollywood I picked up last month. It has been media blasted, and I painted the underside and frame today. I would like to go with two tone blue. Does anyone have pictures of any blue options for '52. I see there was a choice for Admiral blue/Bali blue, but I can't find any chips for these colors (I think it was added later in the year). Maybe there are some at the Nationals that somebody can get pictures of....hint....hint.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hudson paint chips here: http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1952-hudson-pg01.jpg

Quoted from a post made by Large Paul: "For Ppg Lacquer Mix Codes For The Mix Colors In Todays Product Line Ppg Has A Mix Center To Give You The Corect Mix Code You Need My Local Ppg Dealer Just Called Them Up Gave Them My Orignal Color And They Sent Back The New Mix Codes It Didn't Take A Day"

Available on eBay right now for ~ $11.00 with shipping two sheets of 52 Hudson Dupont paint chips.

I went to TCP first, but they don't have a copy of the chips for the blues I was thinking about using. They are not on any color chip sheet I can find, but they are Hudson colors listed on the 2nd page of the sheet. I was hoping somebody would have a picture of a car with these colors or a suggestion for a dark blue/silver blue combo.

House of Kolor has a software program that they sell that you can take classic cars and try all sorts of different colors right there on the computer screen. You can do single colors, two-tones, or anything of your wildest dreams. Last I heard it was $50 for a single make/model, or $500 for unlimited use/cars. If they don't have your make/model already in their system, then they can scan one into the system if they can get ahold of a 1/4 angle front picutre of your make/model. They have several hundreds of makes/models in their system. I've seen them give demos at SEMA multiple times, and it's pretty neat to sit there and try all different colors on the exact make/model that someone is interested in.

I realize you're spraying PPG, and not HofK, but it would still give you the ability to visualize what colors you want, and you can print the pictures you make out on a top quality printer and have PPG match the paint colors. Who knows, maybe PPG has similar software by know, as HofK came out with this 3-4 years ago.

Bali Blue is also a '50-'51 color and shows up on those color charts. I'm not familiar with Admiral Blue.

Hudson paint code 88 was Admiral Blue upper color, and Bali blue lower color. They also had a Code 67 which was Pacific Blue upper (dark) and Bali Blue lower. The individual color codes for thiese colors are: Code 59 - Pacific Blue, Code #87 - Admiral Blue * Code #45 - Bali blue.

Today while at Books A Million I found a picture of a blue on Blue 51 Hollywood.... it gives a great view of what the car would look like dark over light blue colors. The book information is:
