'51 Fenders, Anyone?

I've got this set of fenders for a '51 LWB car that I don't have a use for right now. The fenders are used, but in really nice shape and are pretty much ready for final sanding. Also, the lower piece for the RH fender is NOS, but I only have the one side.

Could probably tote these to Pontiac if anyone here is interested, or drop somewhere along the way from TX to MI. I'm always good for trades, but cash works well, too. I could really use a set of '52-'53 Quarters for a 2dr. (Hint-Hint);)

    Lisa-

The extension piece will fit LWB or SWB. The fender itself is what is different on the two (LWB & SWB). I'll get you a side view after dinner.

    Russell,

My dad and i have found out that there it a difference between LWB and SWB on the extensions. I bought one and it was for a 49 but when attached it didn't line up right with the fender. it was fine looking straight on at the front of the car but it was short on the side, it didn't meet up with the body lines of the fender going around the wheel opening. i may just have weird cars tho.

But anyway, what would you want for the extension? i would have to make sure that it would fit my car tho, i've already bought too many that weren't right..lol

Definately a difference between LWB & SWB front fender extensions. The part numbwer for the RH LWB is #225212 and the part number for the RH SWB is #225012.

    Lisa & Jerry-

My fault for not looking it up in the book, my apologies. No practical experience with SWB's on my part, just assumptions, and y'all know what that gets 'ya. :(

Anyway, my limited knowledge tells me fenders were different behind the wheel wells, between the SWB's and LWB's, meaning I assumed front extensions were the same. It's good I'm still learning something new everyday.

Lisa: What I can do if I can find the time, is try and bolt that extension on the fender and see if it works. The fenders are LWB's and if it lines up, that would tell us which set it is for. Also, there is some writing on that extension and I'll see if the part # is still legible. Get back to you soon.
