1950 Hood difference from 1949?

I am restoring my 1950 Super 6 coupe and I was given a very solid 1949 hood as a donor. After looking closely to the hood that was on my 1950 it appears that the original restoration used a 1948-49 hood. They had welded a plate over the emblem cut-out and ground away a small area around the lower trim lip to allow the 1950 grill emblem to fit correctly.

Does anyone have a picture of a 1950 hood without the trim on?

Is the emblem area the only difference in the hood stamping from 49 to 50?

Not positive, but it should be the only difference. Same kind of difference resides between the '51 and the ('52-'53).

Differences between the years are the cut-out and type of hood ornament.

the hood latch and panel is different as well. they can be swapped the 48-49 latch and panel must be used with the 48-49 hood unless the hood is modified to match up - one or the other would have been done on your car already

I will look closer at the latch panel and see if they used a 49 or a 50 latch and panel set-up.

I am still interested in a picture of what a 1950 hood looked like from the factory without trim.
