Oooooooh, baby! I like that!!! I'd drive that any day! Plus, the fact it has a Mopar big block in it just makes me drool! I want!

Yup, I would love to own this one. Too bad I'll never be able to afford it :( ... Oh well -

Here are some more comments on this truck in this thread -

Damn!! If HUDSON would have used Coupe/tudor doors instead of the fronts from a four door, they'd still be sellin' them! So many time I have thought about putting the Coupe doors on my truck
but I would have shortened the bed the same amount, not extend the frame.

This truck is just really nice, especially compared to the stock cab alongside.

Hopefully, I can find some coupe doors and put my truck in as nice shape as this one!! Lottery, anyone?

What an awesome truck. I too have thought about adding coupe doors to my truck and stretching the frame to keep the full size bed. I also like the way the wheel well lip, at the wood, continues to wrap around to the bed sides to give a better finished appearance. I've seen that done before. This is one impressive truck. The bid is already more than I expected it would sell for. It's at $35,000 now. Wonder how high it will go? Lee

Looks like $35k was most likely the reserve. If you look at the bidding history, the latest bidder kept on bidding, increasing the increment until the reserve was met.

You don't need coupe doors - you could just extend your existing doors and cab, as far as the length...wouldn't bother me one bit...in fact if I where to ever build a custom Hudson truck it would have to be a Crew-Cab dually  :D

I like the profile of it. I would personally prefer a rougher, more traditional look.

Very nice truck. I didn't think a chopped top would look right on a truck. But this looks great! I guess because of the longer door.

    Cool ride.:)

Great ride Jim, is that a '59? Always loved the 'cat eyes' Always wanted a '59 El Camino

yes its a 59. Its a sweet riding and handling car . I changed the original 235 six and cast power glide to a small block 400 with the aluminum power glide. However I have a rebuilt 283 with a700r4 ready to go in. The gearing is too low for the powerglide.

The 400 is a tweeked engine with way too much power for a cruiser so out it comes. Although it sounds awesome with the lumpy idle. Had to change my attitude as street drags are not worth it anymore....too much consequences now.

    Lance, Jim,

Love your 59. I have the 1960 ElCamino. Mine is all original with the six and three on the tree. All that and Red to boot. The ElCamino currently shares shop space alongside the 36 Hudson Eight Stratton Salon by Coachcraft. The 39 that is my avtar is still being cut up for scrap metal. Perhaps a dream away and they will all share the same shop space??? Too much fun and not enough time--I think that spells retirement?

Glen's is a Terraplane and one sweet ride. Not only is it chopped, it has the coupe doors and a custom bed......

Yup, agreed... Too bad Hudson didn't make that cab a bit longer & make use of the coupe doors instead, huh?

My Dad had one for a short time when I was a little one and my younger brother and I would ride behind the seat, while our older brother and step-mother rode on the bench seat with my Dad driving. Boy, what trouble they would get into these days if a cop saw that!
