Motorhome Motor Info Needed
-
i bought a 413/426 motorhome motor yrs. ago for a project but opted for another project and this one never happened.i still have the engine and its in great shape but i have only been able to find minable info about it and no written info which is what i want.every time i mention this motor to someone they think its a worthless truck motor.i have enough info to know its not,but it is stampted oddly a 426 block and the stamp boss says 413.i know 413 & 426 share the same block and it does have a steel crank.the block #'s are on top of the flywheel on back side of engine, industrial 2658826,7-14-70 date stamp is on side of block and rods are standard 1851535,the heads are 2899943 small valve and i have only been able to find info about these heads on one mopar site but my computer crashed,i lost the info and have not been able to find it again.the motor came out of a 72' superior motorhome.i bought it from the original owner who wanted more power and bought a 440.again i'm looking for printed info, books about this motor.somebody help because i'm getting know where fast.

If the water pump housing bolts directly to the heads, it's an industrial/truck 413. If the pump housing bolts to the block, you have an automotive 413. The 413 engines were built all the way through 1976 for use in the medium-duty trucks and larger motor homes. The 426 Wedge engines were not built after 1966, and they were not used in trucks or motor homes, in any case."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..."
