1950 Kaiser Deluxe Sedan Must Go
-
My son and I got a 1950 Kaiser Deluxe Sedan in early February from an estate. It is in terrible shape, but our hope was to use it as a training tool for my 19 year old to learn about car restoration. Unfortunately, my neighbor called the County and they have ordered me to remove it from the property (inoperable) since it doesn't run and only gave me 30 days.
So, I don't want to call the junk man to have it crushed, but I don't want to put it on ebay since I will have to pay them their $125 fee and I doubt I would like to get the $300 I paid for it in addition.
So, I can take some pictures and post them to see if there is anyone interested in it as a parts car. The car hasn't run in 25 years but has its motor and parts. Two of the vents are broken, there is a ding in the driver's side windshield and the passenger side window is cracked. The whole car is very rusty. The hood has rusted off its hinges and the driver's side quarter panel has been crushed. These are the things I was going to take off to teach my son how to repair.
If all else fails I will post it on ebay, but thought I would try other channels first. -
Hi,
Thanks for not rushing to the crusher. Go to www.kfclub.com which is the Kaiser/Frazer club site and you can list it for free. I am sure someone will but it for the parts. Good luck.

If all else fails,
You could put it inside your garage where nobody will see it and still do the bonding with your son, or
Donate the car to a local high school to work on. At least someone will learn from it.

Craigslist is also an excellent place to sell your car. I don't recall if they charge for cars; it may be free. Hemmings Motor News (Hemmings.com) is another good place, though it will cost you some money. My guess is that for $25 you could advertise it there. And this goes to hundreds of thousands of old car enthusiasts all over the world.
Also, Old Cars Weekly offers a 20-word ad for only $5, in the "Kenny's Klunkers" section of their classifieds. A good bargain! Cars can only list for a maximum of $999. Send to Kenny's Klunkers, 700 E. State St., Iola, Wisc. 54990.
