1936 Hudson 8 Cyl Steering box.

Can anyone advise if the steering box in a 1936 Hudson 8 cylinder LWB is the worm and sector or roller bearing box.
The workshop manual shows the roller box for both 1934 and 1935 LWB but not for the 1936, then again for 1937, strange that they would not use the same box in 1936 as the others.
Is there any way to differentiate between the sector box and the roller box with out pulling them apart.

Like most everything on a '36, it is an oddball! The parts book show no roller tooth type for 1936. You can identify all the sector types by the three nuts on the housing, and the adjusting eccentric. The roller tooth type have the adjustment nut under a hexagonal cover on the housing. The '36 H8 l.w.b. in my workshop at the moment has a sector type.If you're stuck in a hole, stop digging.

Yes thanks Geoff, thought that was the case typical Hudson eh.?? Can not understand Why they suit 34-5-7 though and miss 1936 .
