dim dash lights om Ranchero
-
Any ideas on how to make my dash lighting brighter in my 68 Ranchero. All the bulbs have been replaced and I have a good headlight switch. The dash lights are not near bright enough for my liking. Is there an alternate bulb that would be brighter than the original #194 ?
thanks

A #194 bulb is rated at 2 candle power, a #168 bulb is rated at 3 candle power. Switching up to 168's would increase the brightness by 50%. As long as they don't get to hot.

Just had a second thought. You said it has a good headlight switch in it, are you sure that the rheostat for the dash lights works??, and is it turned all the way up??

Are all your grounds clean and tight?

Thanks for the tips guys, I will try both the bulbs and the ground connections. The rheostat is turned all the way up and I have tried turning it back and forth alot in case there was a connetion problem
