New Toys: Infratech Paint Curing Lights

I bought some Infrared Paint Curing Lights for spot usage around the shop.

Each of these have 3 different lighting positions 1,3,4 or all 7 for 500-1750 Watts of drying power each.

I opted for this style instead of the tube type for the extra light the 250W heat lamps provide as well as the heat. I should even be able to cure Powder Coated parts with these Babies!

PS - I didn't break the one light - I bought out all the Heat Lamp bulbs at Lowes and was 1 short!

Place those strategically, and you won't need to shovel any snow next winter...
    1953 Hornet sedan Twin-H
Custom front springs, drop-blocks out back, Clifford 6-2 headers exiting out back shotgun style, Pertronix, and Flames!

1964 Chevy C-10 Longbed, 396/TH400 lowered just enough and \"easy to touch up\" Black paint.

2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
Caved in quarter and fender. Bad paint. Non-True-Trac heap. But it's paid for.

Where did you find the lite fixtures? They look neat and very functional. Thanks, Bob

My friend has used this style of aux. lighting in his bodyshop for years..good way to roll around spot heat!

    Here's the Manufactures Link

The prices seem to vary I bought them online from these folks
This is the first time I ordered from CostPlusTools - they had a deal for free shipping for 300.00+ orders - so I bought 2!

Got them pretty fast too - probably drop shipped from the manufacturer.

Wow those are cool. You've got a great shop there! This is the kind of overhaul my garage needs. :D Looks like your almost ready to start on the car again. How much more are you going to do in your shop before you can get back to the car?

Oh..there's a couple of shop related things left - but I'll finish those up as needed..but for now there is nothing preventing me from moving forward on the car ~ 'cept life!

Rambo had a really bad week starting last Friday he went 4 days without eating any food, the first 2 days he was very listless and wouldn't even raise his head to eat a bite of cheese :(

With the bout of cancer he had last year - ANY - change in his behavior or 'tude is a red flag to me now. I took him to the vet Mon. and they took blood/fecal samples and gave him a subcutaneous infusion of fluids - he looked like the Hunchback from Notre Dame that night!

Wed. night he finally ate some rice and chicken broth (and kept it down) then all the tests came back ok, so no parisites or issue with the blood workup so now I'm slowly moving him back to dog-food, I think we're over the hump of whatever it was he got into.

So for about 5 days I barely got any sleep just cleaning up after and worrying about the mutt!

Anyway...:D... If you read the other thread I did fiinsh cleaning the bead blaster and am starting today on the TwinH parts, I'll work on the TwinH setup until I'm done with it and/or until I hear from KGap about the Transmission Adapter I need for the TH400 I have sitting here ready to drop in behind the flathead.

The number 1 short term goal is to get the 50 Super moving under it's own power - I refuse to keep pushing it around by myself!

Then I'll "test drive" it and start/finish the bodywork - that's the plan now, anyway :o

Have you had a chance to test those lights out yet. Curious if they work as you anticipated or not. I'm thinking about buying some and mounting them on a telescopic arm on the wall. Any chance you could take some photos of the back of the housing where the brackets connect? Also if you had the overall dimensions of the housing that would be helpful. Sorry for all the questions and requests, just looking to make the right decision before I buy a heat lamp.

I've used these type of IR lights in my friends bodyshop over the years - so I know they'll work well for my purposes.

Here's a picture of the back of the units - I'll get some measurements later and tell you about a simple mode I made to the swivel portion...

WOW Dan ! Nice looking shop. I remember when all my stuff was new and shiny.............a long time ago. (ha) Now, most of it looks like it went through a nuclear blast. Maybe that ought to be the idea of a new thread........pictures of our shops, where we do that Voo-Doo that we do so well.
