1972 Firebird Questions
-
hello my name is gary. i am new to this forum and i came on here seeing if i could get some questions of mine answered. as you might have guessed from the thread tittle its in reference to my 72 firebird. this is my first car ive had it since before i even got my permit, for a good 4-5 years now. and now that i got more money its time to start restoring it and i have a couple of questions. the first question is what kind of modifications will i have to do to fit a ford 9 inch rear end in my car. am i going to have to relocate anything or is it a simple bolt in kind of deal. i got the rear end from my brothers 68 hi po 289 mustang he totaled. but im not sure if its a 8 inch or a 9 inch rear end. is there any differences between the two? how would i be able to identify it as one or the other? also my next question is i know that 69 camaro trunk lid spoilers will fit on 70s camaros. but will it also fit on my firebird? i know the camaro and firebird rear quarters for the 70s were almost identical with the exception of the tail light pannels and maybe some other minor things. also it has a chevy 350/ th 350 combo in it but i know that wont change anything or complicate anything. any help would be much apreciated
