Transmission is finished
-
Well, I finally finished the trans replacement in the Cutlass.
I pulled the 350 and had a friend build me a 200 4R. It is a direct bolt in. All I had to do was take the trans crossmember and turn it 180 degrees around to match up to the mount. No driveshaft replacement needed.
I took it for a ride today and am very pleased. Before when I was going 50 MPH the tach was readiing 4200 RPM's. That's because I have the 4:33 rear diff in it. Now with the 200 when I go 50, it's revs are at 2200 RPM's. Very streetable for long trips now and a bunch a gas saved with better MPG.
Anyone know someone with a similar situation, tell them this is a very easy and cost effective solution and I recommend it.
To bad the temps are only 4 degrees here, otherwise i'd still be out driving, ha,ha,ha.

turn on the heater and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I agree. It is great to be able to get a clear dry day here and go for a ride. Makes one look forward to the springtime, ha,ha.
