Need 1941 Cadillac Series 63 Parts
-
Hey, I am 23 and just bought a 1941 Cadillac 63. I was wondering if anyone out there had this car, and knew where to get interior parts. I guess this was an unpopular model and I cant find much on it. I need to know simple things like is the original radio 12v, how to remove it, ect. Im just really in the dark on this one.
Also, as far as Fisher Bodies, I understand they made bodies for many auto makers. Are there other cars, say a 41 olds, that uses the same parts? Thanks! -
Your 41 Cadillac was born with 6 volts, so if no one has converted it, it should still be 6 volts. The easy way to tell is to look at the battery and count the filler caps. 3 caps will be 6 volt, 6 will be 12 volts.
If you do not get an answer here, you could try the folks at the AACA message boards. Your best bet of course is to look for a Cadillac club as near to you as possible. They will have all the inside information.

Hey, Thanks for the reply! It has a 12v battery in it. What do I do to try to run the original radio if it is 6v? I have a 68-72 472 Big Block in it.

I will then assume that the gauges and all electrical is not connected to the system.
I would stop at a Radio Shack and ask them if they could recommend something like a resister to put in the supply line to the radio to drop the voltage to 6 volts.
You could also send your radio to someone that will re-do it for 12 volts.
