packard vin numbers

Hello,
I'm new here today. I'm not even sure if I'm in the correct menu. I am looking at a couple of Packards for sale. One is a 1940 1806 custom super 8sedan, the other is a 52 200 deluxe sedan. I found the model and body numbers on the fire wall(40) and door jam(52), but where can I find the vin numbers? There are no titles, only a bills of sale. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
