1957 pontiac starcheif
-
well i bought this 4door starcheif about 3 years ago and its been in my garage since.
when i bought it, the brake lines were gone and brakes needed a rebuilding. it ran and i even drove it home.
now after about 2 years of sitting there i replaced and rebuild the
radiatior
starter
generator
all brake parts
and much more
but for some reason the engine is locked up and i cant figure out why. i always left oil in it and i never tried to start it untill i had everythign fully back together.
i tried to spin the crankshaft manually and nothing. only thing i can think of is to disconnect the tranny and try to start it. but idk what that would help.
any help would be great
anyone wanna buy a project car? -
does anyone know any other pontiac forums that might be of some help??????

There are a few things that you can try.
Pull all the plugs and see if it wil crank. With the plugs out it will also be easier to turn the engine by hand.
A possibility is that the starter is stuck engaged into the flywheel. You may have to remove it or at least loosen it to unstick it.
You may have lost some of the connectability of the electrical system. Make sure all conections at the battery and starter are clean and tight and that the battery is fully charged.
Have you checked for voltage at the starter in the crank mode?
Please don't take this all wrong. Just trying to go with the simple and obvious first
You could try:

or the AACA site.
Sometimes it takes a while to get answers.
