Conestoga Wagon WANTED
-
Hey Studebaker people..
My buddy purchased a 54 Conestoga wagon awhile back hoping to restore it, but his body guy says it has some bad structural issues, So now He's on the hunt for another one. Any one out there have one or know of one for sale ?? Anything 50s or 60s considered.
Please post a reply or call Ben at 218-966-7250 THANKS -
If "structual issues" translate to frame rot, and the rst of the car is worth restoring, he might consider looking for a good used frame. If the frame interchanges with other, more common, 1954 Studebakers, he may be in luck. It might even interchange with newer Studes, such as Larks.
If he's not in the Studebaker club he ought to join, for he'll probably find leads to cars there that he won't see in the general old-car publications.
Otherwise, he should be consulting Ebay and Hemmings Motor News in his search for a car. -
Hey Jon..
I guess the issues are on either side of the tailgate between the inner and outer metal.
Seems to me this would be an easy fix, but I guess his body guy thinks not??
I'm just the guy with the computer, not the know how Todd
