Clarification on Ads in the Forum
-
An inquiry by one of our Forum members has prompted me to consult Classiccar.com (our hosts, here) regarding their policy on the listing of things "for sale" by our Forum members.
First let me say there is no crisis here! Nothing is going wrong, and no one is being criticized for anything.
In the past, in deference to Classiccar (which has its own paid "classified" pages within this website, and which depends upon those for some of its income) we have asked Hudson people to limit advertising their cars and parts to "occasional" posts in the Forum. There has been no hard-and-fast rule, and this seems to have worked just fine.
However, the Forum member who contacted me, worried that some folks might interpret this "loosely" and post lots of ads, while others might interpret it more "strictly" and self-limit themselves when they need not do so.
Classiccars assured me that, so far (as far as they're concerned), things are okay in relation to our own Forum. They would prefer that large commercial enterprises not post cars for sale here (putting them in the Classified section instead), but Hudson owners selling a Hudson are still welcome to list them here, on an "occasional" basis. And of course, if you spot a Hudson for sale in Craigslist or your local paper, please bring that to our attention with a post, containing a link to the ad you spotted.
So, if you a Hudson owner selling a Hudson, and hadn't mentioned it here for fear you'd be breaking the rules, please be assured that no one will cast you out for listing it!
