Hard to get into 2nd and 3rd when cold
-
I had had this problem before and flushed the transwith cerocine , now that winter has set in, it is taking a while for the trans to warm up.
How often should I flush the trans? maybe it's just leaking.
Going under to find out now.

What weight of oil are you using? I wouldn't think you'd have a problem with 90 weight, but I've heard of some guys using 140, and that would be like molasses in really cold weather. It must not be leaking, because if it was gone, shifting wouldn't be a problem. Until the gears seized. Then it would be the least of your problems. As far as frequency of flushing, just when you change transmission oil, and that would be only every few years, not yearly. There's a ton of old cars out there that have never had tranny oil changed.

the mopar high performance manual transmissions in the 60 and 70s used type A automatic trans . fluid in them , they wouldnt shift good at all with 90 WT. in them . you could go to a 70-80 WT. fluid too. the new manual trans. use a light WT synthetic oil in them.
