'46 Windsor Front fender removal?

I'm probably going to have to take off the front fenders on my 46 Windsor 4 door to trim inner fenders, etc. Has anyone got any tips on doing this? I just don't want to tweak or bend anything in the process. Also, I'm planning on swapping the flathead six for a mid 70's Mopar 318ci. If anyone has any good transmission/rear end combinations that could be suggested that would be very helpful. As I'm sure you can tell I'm pretty new at this, but I'm taking it slow and trying to do things right the first time... Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions
