Utah plates are no where near that in cost. Also, there are some still around. I started with a few that I cared about and ended up with a few on the wall all purchased for a few bucks at swap meets. My favorite is the plate from my year of birth. The 1944 plate was made from soy bean with a clear lettered covering. Most went the way of cows, sheep, etc., in the fields. Most of the rest "melted" in the winter storms. When I got mine, I paid a "huge" price of $25.00 (this was back when most plates could be had for a buck). Best offer to date is $700. When the right Beeline Oil Company quart can is going for $4,000 it is still a good price in todays market...:D

I have NJ 1931 Tag #V21111 that needs restored, but would be easy.. No bad rust, just needs painted again.

Some one that needs it ...make me an offer.

Dave, FYI the "V" on your tag stands for Morris county. New Jersey has 21 counties so there was a distinctive letter for every county. Similar to the way other states used a county number prefix on their tags. I too have a "V" 1931 New Jersey tag. How weird is that? ( V19602).
