74' Dodge Dart Oil?
-
I got a 74' Dart for my teenager last year, doing some repair and resto work.
Recently had to switch to a specialty oil on my solid pushrod/flat tappet/air cooled VW due to the recent lack of ZDDP in mass-market motor oils.
Just wondering if the Dart engine (8 cyl) has had any issues with modern oils? IIRC it has Hydraulic lifters.... -
You shouldn't have any big issues. I run 15W-40 or 5W-30 Rotella T in all of my engines, Diesel or not, and have no problems at all."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..." -
Agree. Rotella or Delo 400.

Another possibility would be to go to your local Chevy dealer and talk to the parts department. They have an additive you can use that will replenish the ZDDP
