son -on dads computer-
My car was idling like crap the other day so I figured since I just got it, it may have been awhile since anyone changed the oil out. I decided to go ahead and change the oil. I used Mobile 1 synthentic oil like I was reccomended on here. Anyways, I drain out the oil and noticed it was extremely dark and even after 10 minutes of draining, it was still coming out. I decided to go ahead and flush it to make sure all the bad stuff got out. I hooked up the hose, ran water through the engine, started it up and was waiting for the water to come out clean (The engine never went above idle so I was told this would be ok). Anyways, About 3 minutes into this, then engine starts shaking and shuts off. I figured it was all cleaned out so I plugged it up, added the oil and figured I was ready to go. WRONG! The car won't freaking start now. This car has been nothing but trouble for me, I think I am done with it. -
Are you saying that you put water in the crankcase and ran the engine? You'll never get any lubrication in the engine that way.
Kerosine in the gas has nothing to do with the car starting if it does not crank.
Will the engine spin with oil in the crankcase and the spark plugs out?

It will only take 4 quarts of oil because you did not change the oil filter. On the valve cover will be a cap that you remove to put the oil in. It sounds like you are putting the oil in the tube that you use to check the oil. You must have removed the dipstick and poured the oil in there.
Check the oil with the dipstick and adjust accordingly. Then try to turn the engine over.

Ron-- i put this up as a joke thinking maybe we could get a little more action--
looks like you and i are the only ones that seem to want to help other car people -- -
id like to thank you for the time you put in to help others -- THANKS--Rich -
Well, I sort of wondered about it because I have read your posts before and I didn't think that you would do such a thing.
It's to bad that there isn't more participation in these forums. I remember many years ago this was a fabulous site with a tremendous amount of participation, then something happened and I think it got hacked by someome and ended up being shut down. After it reopened it has never been the same. The management has done a good job but I think others have found alternative sources.
Thanks for letting me off the hook just the same

Until I read on to the bottom of the thread to realize this was a joke, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Good one !
I have not been a member for very long but I have also noticed there is not a lot of participation.
