hi y'all, I've got a 49 f1 w/ a 239 flathead and I'm trying to get some info on the installation of a stock fuelpump, the original was replaced w/ an electric which that has died so I want to go back stock I have a singlestage fuelpump, a f.p. stand, a pushrod and a pushrod bushing, I know how to put it together I just don't know where the bushing goes. can someone please help? thanks JoJo

If the push rod is not worn down, you do not have to use the pushrod bushing at all. The bushing was supplied as a band aid to prevent replacing the pushrod when it began to wear.

the lobe on the cam shaft may be worn.this is the main reason many flat head fords had elect.fuel pumps.there is an old trick of using a round file to elongate the pump mounting holes, then to push down on the pump as you tighten the bolts if the cam has a little life in it this usually works.
