Hey Hudson people. I just found two 37 and one 39 Hudson 2 door coupes that a friend of my dads is lookin to sell. I'm thinking about buying them to resell, but have no idea what they might be worth.. all 3 look to be VERY strait and solid from top to bottom and VERY complete, they even seem to have many extra parts (grills and whatnot).. I don't think any are running.. So looking for opinions what they might be worth before I jump in.. Todd

Asking what a car is worth is somewhat like asking if a girl is cute. There is a lot to take into consideration. Old Car's Price Guide lists 29 different models for the 1937 year, 36 for 1939 and then places them into five classes based on condition. Their top value for a 37 is $41,000 and it is for the Custom eight, Series 74, 122" wheel base 2 door convertible broughm. 1937 Hudsons are not scarse but seem to be cars our members like. If you go with the standard used by Old Cars price Guide the "not running" restorable 1937 coupes run from $1,500.00 to $1,700.00. Fully restored the same coupes reach a top value of $14,000.00. The 39's are a bit more rare and go for about 20 percent more with the exception of the Country club series that are about 30 percent more.

This estimate is just as "ball park" as the question. Give us some photo's and descriptions (model, condition and such) and a better estimate might show these could sell for a bit higher. And, then there is always the option of putting them on eBay and making a killing.

Hope this helps, if you would like more information drop me a note: browniepetersen@readytek.net

Here is a picture of one of the 37s and the 39 my dad took (sorry, not the best).

he said they were coupes, but they look like sedans to me.

Ant comments from you Hudson people? can I go wrong in the $1500 range for all 3?

those are not coupes, they are two door sedans. To appeal to a larger market, like the street rod contingent, the coupes are far more desireable. These look like they were stored inside, for some time, and recently were put out to pasture. Hopefully the owner is realistic, and will sell, but these are likely cars you want to buy with the idea of keeping. The two door sedans are nice, but I would venture to say the coupes are far more desireable. They both look to have potential, I would figure you could buy to resell, but in the end, keep in mind the market we are in. Best of luck.

Many times photos play tricks on the eyes (at least on mine), however -

I only see two of the three cars in the pictures, but as hudsonkid indicates, it does not appear that these cars have been there very long...

Also, the chrome is shiny, and they appear to be solid - both good points. However, make your decision and act quickly - I wouldn't let them sit too long, nor would I store them outside (if at all possible), at least not without some type of cover... They're both exposed, and looks like at least some of the glass is gone - never a good thing for outside storage.

If you part out that '39 there are some parts I need. However, as scarce as they are I would understand not wanting to part them!
