1952 Hudson Hornet on Boston Craigslist
-
Hello Fellow Hudsonites,
I would like to provide a friendly caution to my fellow enthusiasts. Yesterday I finished taking what parts I wanted off of a 1952 Hudson Hornet which I had purchased for that purpose. I then sent it off to an auto recycler.
Lo and Behold, it turns up for sale on Craigslist for $800. Just would like to let you all know that the outer perimeter frame is completely shot. Not just holes either. Most of it is completely rotted away. Motor is frozen. The new bumper that he advertises coming with the car is a bumper from a 1956 Lincoln. Floor is collapsing on driver's side front. All of the interior door panels are missing. Almost all of the body chrome is gone also. I know that at $800 someone will probably buy it. I just wanted to get the word out to all of you Hudnuts.

Maybe scrap prices have taken a tumble.

I think you just saved my Brother a trip to Boston. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads-up, Glenn. Warnings like this are one of the great benefits of our internet forum. Let's hope the potential Ebay buyers tune us in before making a rash move!

I would have to agree, if you got a replateable bumper and a workable fender your pretty much there. -

A junk dealer near me (Ludlow, MA) has a '54 4 dr wasp, he wants $350 for it. In woods, almost buried, outside for 20 years at least, has nothing usable, engine probably stuck, basically a home for chipmunks
.
