1950 Super Six Coupe Rocker Trim Needed

    Well... I bit the bullet and bought a 1950 Super Six....I have always loved the Hudson Step Down design. The vehicle was local (Detroit) and is in Fair "restorable" condition. It is missing a bit of bright work, mostly around the rockers. The car runs great and with the information supplied by the this forum I was able to get the clutch freed up and a new set of points in it and it fired up after 5+ years of sitting.



    Question: Does the 48,49 rocker trim fit a 1950 Coupe?



    I will get some pictures posted as soon as I figure how...

    I've got a 50 Super, but not sure what trim I have that would fit since mines a 4 door.

    Well I want to restore it back to it original glory and keep it as stock as possible. I went to your website ( great pictures ) and I might be in the same boat as you with the amount of rust I found in a the rocker rails, frame rails, and in the floor pans. I am not afraid of the rust but I know that sheet metal parts may be hard to find. I plan on fabricating whatever parts I can't find.



    I sent in my $25 to be an HET member and I am going to the Pigeon Forge HET meet this October to meet some members and see some cars and maybe find some parts.



    Here is a picture of the drivers side of the car. This currently has the mose complete upper stainless piece but it appears that I am missing the trim that follows the quater and fender parting lines and the piece that goes on the lower edge of the rocker.



    As you can see I will be doing alot of re-chroming also.

They are a very active bunch, and I'm sure would be very helpful to you in your restoration efforts.     Matt,rocker trim for a '50 super is the same for a 4dr. as well as a cpe.-Except for a short w/b,which is about 4 inches shorter. The pieces that are missing from the belt molding will be 2 dr.only. If you don't have the fender shirts,they are all the same as well,long or short w/b. The difference in front end sheet metal[hood,both front fenders] The wheel base on the car pictured should be 124". Also ,as Jetman pointed out,you need to join the HET club and the local chapter,it is well worth the few dollars for the annual dues. Congratulations on your purchase.
