'59 ford ground short
-
got a '59 ford with brand new 390 and electronic ignition with a/c and electric fan. car constantly drains battery no matter what charge. any clue what could be happening???
-
How long have you had the car and when did this start?
Ron -
do you mean it kills the battery when you try to start it -- or it gos flat over night --??
start unhooking acc"s.--radio--trunk light -glove box light -- under hood light -??--check alternator for draw--[with switch off]----
do you have a ground strap from motor to body at the dash-- where is the battery ground hooked??--
need more info to chase this short -
Are you saying that it goes dead as the vehicle sets(a draw on the system) or that it goes dead as you are driving the vehicle(a weak or faulty charging system)?? It makes a BIG difference in trying to help you figure this out. I agree that we need alot more information.
Phil.
