Dietrich Sun Visor values?
-
I was cleaning out my Grandfather's old shop and preparing for an auction sale when I found an old Dietrich adjustable sun visor. My Grandfather used to drive only Studebakers or DeSotos, and I'm sure this visor came off one of those old cars. My Dad says that it has been hanging in the garage for at least 50 years. It still has the original green paint, the chrome has no rust, and though there are a couple of scratches, there are no dents. It also has all of the mounting brackets including two chrome pieces that attach to each end of the visor. I hope to take some pictures tonight, and can post them if necessary.
I'm trying to get an idea as to the value to expect at auction. I can't find any on Ebay and have been doing a number of internet searches but can't really find any references to them. Any info willl be helpful. -
I would get some good pictures maybe some with a ruler so they can see the size. Several shots from both sides. Then go to the AACA site and post it on the "What's this?" board. I'd bet someone there will be able to tell you what it fits. Post one or two pictures and if they want more, you can post them then.

I own one Detrich visor, in my search for my visor I went to many old car swapmeets the Pomona swapmeet in CA. I went to Long Beach Veteran swapmeet also in CA. Found several ranging from $250-$375 all depending on the condition. The cleaner the visor the more its worth. A real Ditrich should be stamped on the ends of the stainless where it clamps to the car/truck, also it is made of steel not aluminum. Steel should have no pits to fetch top $$$

The Detrich visor is a universal adjustable visor. It also fits late 40's & 50's Chevy Bombs example 1947-1953 Chevrolet car or truck.
