Over Heating

i got 1964 Ranchero with a 289 engine,with 302 heads off a mustang and its over heating, got a new water pump,thermostat and its time and tuned , compression is 160 each any advice would be cool:confused:

Check basic's first, radiator, proper cooling fan, fan shroud installed(if factory equipt), proper thermostat/properly installed, all hoses/bypasses properly installed. If no problems found with those items, who put engine together, are you sure its a 289, possible wrong/improperly installed heads, intake manifold improperly installed, water jackets in block filled up with "junk".
So many possible problems. Let us know how it comes out.
