Rear floor 1939

    This maybe a stupid question but what is the grate above rear end in the late 30's cars for? Some kind of ventilation?

    Hudson had a ventilation system that theoritically pulled in fresh air if you kept the wind wings cracked through a canvas filter in the floor. If you look at either the Hudson or Terraplane News reprints on, I think Aaron Burr's website,this is explained in detail. Mine was intact on my '36T and I had a local seamstress reproduce it for me. Nobody knows that it is there but me!!

    Opps! I mean "ALEX" Burr. Wasn't Aaron the guy who got shot in a duel or was he the shooter?? My American History is getting mixed up from all of the exhaust fumes!!

    Me, a fountain of knowledge? Not hardly - Had to look it up myself. Couldn't help myself, once I read the thread, I had to look it up.

    It has been a LONG time since I took any type of history class! LOL!
