78 cadillac radio

i have a nice 78 cadillac eldorado with one problem: the radio doesnt work. its a short circuit somewhere i believe but being extremely inept as an electircian i dont know how to fix it. should i take it to a pro ti fix, buy a classic old radio that works, or just get a whole new system but keep it hidden to keep the vintage look.
any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
