Salvage Yard sighting
-
Hey All,
I don't know much about Packard's, but my local salvage yard just (in the past week or two) received a practically complete Clipper Custom - 1955 I'm gonna hazard a guess (when comparing the hood ornament and taillight lenses against some Ebay auctions - I know, not a definitive way to ID stuff).
Most all of the body panels have cancer, but everything else looks to be there - script emblems (hood, fenders, trunk lid), interior (gauge cluster, window trim, tube radio, etc), bumpers front & rear (though in need of re-chrome), engine, and probably a lot more parts that didn't catch my eye. At least the passenger door windows are broken, but front and rear windshields are intact. If I remember correctly, the rear passenger door is slightly crunched from a small accident - I was still able to open it, but there is some impact damage.
If you want to check it out, or get in contact with the salvage yard, it's located in Hebron KY (outside of Cincinnati, OH) at a place called Bessler's - http://www.upullandsave.com/.
Thought I'd get the word out since I'm sure some people out there could use some/most/all of the parts.

Thanks for the info.
You may also want to go to the AACA boards and let them know.
