Rare 1935 Aluminium head.
-
A couple of you guys were talking about a rare two piece cylinder head recently to suit an 8 cylinder, and mentined you had never seen one for a 6 cylinder.
I have in my garage a two piece head to suit a 6 cylinder Terraplane, the unusual thing about it is that on the top of the head it says "Aluminium Super Power Dome" the top part of the sandwich is Steel, while the lower part is Aluminium, it is in quite good condition for it's age, little corrosion on the Aluminum section. How this found it's way Down Under would be interesting.
So , now you have seen a 6 cylinder "Aluminium Super Power Dome" head.
Sorry about the bottom photo, but the battery was going flat in the camera.Aluminium Super_121641688846513.JPG1080 x 720 - 56KPower Dome._121642128946513.JPG1080 x 720 - 61KHead_121641923646513.JPG1080 x 720 - 59K -
Yep, that must be the 6 cyl. version. Notice it is for the '34-5 engine.

I have recently purchased a 1917 Hudson touring on e-bay an when it was shipped to me, I was very surprised when I lifted the hood. It deffinetly was not a hudson engine. It was a six cyl. with two 3 cyl. heads and the distributor sat between the two heads. after some checking I found out it was a 1929 Pontiac split-six. It runs great, and also has the pontiac trans. After I find the wheels I need for this car, I will start looking for the super six engine and trans., and the Pontiac will come out. Just for your info Dale
