does anyone know where i can view a copy of a parts manual or overhaul manual for the 454S carb? i bought a kit from the carb doc and it seems to be a pretty specific kit and there are a couple of parts included that i did not find on my carb. the most significant item was a ball check valve. regards, tom

Tom, The current replacement kits for Carter carb rebuild kits cover a variety of carbs that Carter made during that model's production run. Certain modifications happend during the run causing slightly different variations of the need for slightly different parts. You may have some of those parts and really don't need them for your model. The carb kits from Afla rebuild kits usually have an exploded view under the service instructions that may help you. The Afla kit number is 2013 and the OEM Carter number is 1723. good luck.

Here's a webpage with on-line lists of parts, with a few instructions. http://old-carburetors.com/Hudson.htm

Go to the two links at the upper right, for the 454S

Here's another page with instructions for various Carter carbs of that era:

I have, in my files, a 4 page tune-up guide for the -454 carburetor. Should be of some help.

I also have the Carter carb sheet for this carburetor.

Drop me an email @ NEChudsontech09@yahoo.com (drop the NEC) and I'll be happy to send you a copy of them.
