My Hornet is finally home!!!!
-
Hello Fellow Hudosnites,
Finally after 30 years of dreaming, I finally have a Hornet. The car harkens from Western Kansas and is completely rust free. The last time that it was driven was in 1960 and had been in storage since. Chrome is fair. The pot metal is absolutely beautiful with no pitting at all. Complete with Twin H Power. Finished in Gulf Green. My hats off to Jim Guinn for transporting the car from Colorado to Lexington, Massachusetts. He is top rate as man of you have said. Attached are some pics for viewing as it was dropped off by Jim.
Have been slowly taking off the chrome and I am more pleased with the condition every day. Hope to have it into the paint shop by fall.

I am speaking with my friend Jim G as I type this reply... you obviously found out what all the others who have used his service have experienced... Good Service with a smile... what you do not know is soon after leaving your residence but after thousands of trouble free miles he was at a nearby intersection and as he turned an axle failed... three days later and with a replacement third member under his truck... Jim drove off to NJ and another load.
Jim was pleased with your comments... He does not come to the CCC Board so it was fortuitous to be able to relate your post to him in real time.
Happy Holidays... -
Jim brought my 54 sedan body and parts all the way from Texas to Montana then spent 2 hrs helping me load them onto our truck and trailer. That included wrestling a 308 engine with tranny attached onto the trailer. You will not find a better man to transport your car anywhere.www.hudsonmotorcar.org

Howdy hudson Guy
I know some great tricks for taking your trim off without damaging it
Call me when you need your trim repaired and polished
I don't post these coments about trim repair due to any shortage of work, I do so to save Hudnuts a lot of time and expense
let me know if you need any trim help ok? -
Congratulations! How cool is that? And a '52, to boot! Looks like a real good Hornet. Interesting placement for the back-up lights. Never seen one with them mounted on the deck lid before.

interesting pickup - the lights look like someone made, or they came with, a tapered filler to get them semi-level
I bet that truck and trailer of Jim's has some stories to tell! -
The back up lights are in one of two locations recommended by factory for installation. The rubber light bases came with the kits.

Mine is in the trunk also. Nice looking car. Keep us updated on progress.

Does anyone make the back up lights as a repro? Or have some in fair shape for sale. I know I really miss back up lights when I have to back out of my dark driveway.
Harry
