Essex at Show

Drove my '30 Essex to the Sloan Auto Fair in Flint, Michigan over the weekend. Close to 500 cars, only 2 Hudson products I could find; my Essex and a'37 Terraplane. The Essex was chosen for one of the 'Top 75' awards-quite an honor considering the show was a 'Celebration of GM's 100 Years', and Flint is (was?) a GM factory town.

I think the oval window was on just some of the 1930 models.

Beautiful Essex. In the eighties, I rode many miles in my grandparents 1930 Essex Challenger. I really like the two tone paint on yours.

Congrats on getting out to a show and being recognized.

Of course the next question is - "How many years did GM make the Essex" (Meanwhile the Terraplane owner is explaining GM did not make the Terraplane.) LOL "What's a Hudson??"

Gotta get them Hudsons, etc, out and about boys - ed-u-ma-cate the great unwashed.

    Alex,

I draped a fender protector over the back seat after the 20th person asked,"Who made the Essex?" Also, I am at a loss (LOL) as to how the Hudson Company went out of business, because those who DID know about Hudson's ALL owned or parent's owned one when they were young!
