VIN question
-
From what I've been able to find online, the vin for a 55-57 cadillac should be on an aluminum plate riveted to the drivers front body post. So, what happens if that tag is missing? The trim tag is still in place with a body number & everything else, but I can't find a vin anywhere. Does it appear in any other locations? Can I get a replacement plate from GM if I provide 'em with the trim tag info & like the engine number or somethin' like that?

found my answer. The vin is also stamped on the top of the left frame rail in the engine compartment & on the front right top of the engine block. Those #'s match my title so I'm not so worried anymore. Anyone know if its possible to get a replacement vin tag riveted on?
