66 fury with 318 wedge needs transmission
-
I have a 66 fury with a 318 wedge and I was wondering what other motors i could get one from that will bolt up to it.
-
What, exactly, is a 318 wedge ????? You either have a 318 OR you have a wedge......
If you have a 318 Poly (A-engine) then any small block, A or LA, trans will bolt up. If you have a wedge, then you are looking for any B-RB package.
With either assembly, you must pay attention to the fact that all 66 engines are internally balanced, assuming that you have the original engine. -
Its a wedge and its the original engine I just need to know what other cars and motors i can take a transmission from
-
In 1966, the stock 318 is a Poly-head A-engine. ANY 727A or 904A will fit the car. Same applies if it has a later LA-318.
Hemiparts, I'm sure that is what he was referring to when he said a "wedge" is that he likely has a later LA318, rather than the original Poly 318."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..." -
The correct designation for a 318 Poly is the 318A or A318. The letter "P" is not used in that context."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..."
