I don't guess I can post on the main forum because I am Not a member of the HET group, however, some of them might wander over to this forum and see what is available FROM non members.
I will soon have for sale the dual carb set-up for a 308 engine, I will have the Carbs/air cleaners/linkage/ this unit is in original condition and will need rebuilding I'm fairly sure.
Anyone interested in this can contact me via e-mail:bjharris@mynewroads.com -

This is the kind of misunderstanding that I thought might happen. I know it's not the intention of the forum moderators, but, here it is. This guy, understandably, thinks he can't post on the Hudson forum because he's NOT a Hudson club member. WHY? Because when you open the Hudson forum page one of the first few threads says "New H-E-T Members only Forum--Sign up now!" Now, I know what it means, but some will think this means that you have to be a club member to post there. Don't believe me? Look at this post! I tried to protest this "members only" thing a while back but got shut down by the forum. I'm not trying to cause a problem but this "members only" thing goes against what I believe the Hudson club is all about. Please, please don't chime in with "We just didn't want to bore the general public with club business." Even though we have a WTN for that kind of stuff I realize what the intention was, it just doesn't work here. We are suposed to be sharing Hudson info here (IMHO), club member or not. ...nuff said. -
Bill - I hope someone picks you up on the twin-h, I don't have a hudson with a 308 or I might have been interested.
To the others who posted about the "HET ONLY" sub-forum, I think if the admin would rename it to HET CLUB FORUM, HET CLUB MEMBERS or somehting similar it would be less confusing and derisive. -
I think the HET club members only forum section is a great idea.
It doesn't get a lot of traffic, let's be honest. It is a nice feature for the club, and it's members, but honestly, I don't see it having longevity.
I think you have to step back and look at how things are here, on the site. If it weren't for the hudson group making this a home, there would be 1/10 the traffic in any of the other areas. plain and simple, the hudson interest carries classic car.com, and the majority will have a major voice. I personally think that Ted should sell his elcamino, and buy a stepdown, immediately.
It would be a major mistake to upset your major customer base, you know those that are exposed to the advertisers on the site? That's the target demographic, and the way revenue is generate for the site. If you want to help things out, click on a few of the links, once and a while, or be a patron of one or more of the vendors.
Anyway, I don't see any major issue with it, that's cool and all, keeps the ideas and views of the club, in the club, and from it's members.
No harmful ideas or criticisms from non members, or the outside. Which can be looked at as a two sided coin, I guess, no reason to debate it.
I doubt I will much stop in and post there, if and when I get my membership confirmation. Just seems like an area where I could get in too much trouble with the folks of this fine forum. -
Speaking of supporting Vendors............I contacted Eastwood to ask a tech question about their replacement of Corroless, called "Rust Encapsulator". After getting my questions answered, I sent him a few pictures of my "48, with a lot of before and after pictures. The tech guy forwarded the pictures to the ad guys, who forwarded the pictures to the president of the company. The President (Curt Strohacker) emailed me about getting permission to use the pictures on their RSS WEB FEED. (whaterver the heck that is?) I guess it pays to let Vendors see some of the final works, when you used their products.

Bill-Please feel free to post on the HET forum. You do not have to be a member to participate.
See? That's all it takes... -

Ha! I have a few two doors, and a four door or two. Does that make me "Bi-Forum-ual"? hmmm Don't tell the wife, she might have a problem with that. LOL All kidding aside, good point 'wkitchens', I think most of us just want to share Hudson info and that's it. We don't need to broken down into groups.
I got one rule in my garage, no talk about religion, politics, or custom vs. original. That's it! Oh, and no yard stuff or girl stuff in the garage either.
Sooo, anyone workin' on anything interesting?

I don't know how "interesting" you'd call it, but I am in the process of putting my '48 back together. After stripping it down to the metal, I sprayed the first coat of Eastwoods new "Rust Encapsulator". It sprayed on just as well as the old stuff they called "Corroless". I took a few days off from work, just so I could get this car coated. Tomorrow, I'll wet-sand, and spray the second coat. Here's a few pictures.

Looks like she's pretty straight, any rust? Doesn't look like it from the photos. What's the plan for this one? All original or customized?

WOW! I guess I have been gone from the Forum for quite a while. Bent Metal.......let me introduce myself. I'm the #1 Badboy of the Hudson Club!(ha) I changed out to a smallblock Chevy w/tunnelram and 2 Holley 4bbls. (My version of a Twin-H), tricked-out 700R-4, Currie/Ford 9in rear w/disc brakes, and LaBudds front disc conversion. I drove the car for a year, making sure all the changes worked properly, then I took it "ALL' apart. Now, I'm painting, and detailing as I re-assemble.

Man, that ole Hudson looks good enough to spray on a clear coat and take it to the show!
Good work, Pard!
