1966 Chrysler Windsor questions. Please Help...
-
Hi,
I am new to this forum so hello everyone and hopefully i'll be able to gain alot of knowledge here...
So as the title states i own a 1966 Chrysler Windsor convertible.
I've had the vehicule for about 6 years now.
I would like to put on some rims but have no idea what size and bolt pattern etc i would need.
I have called a local chrysler dealer but they have no idea as well...
If anyone can help me out with this or point me in the right direction i would be more then greatful.
As well as a place where i can find parts for my vehicule. I have a few things that have broken over the years (armrest, lettering on the hood etc) that i would like to buy.
I understand that this car is not a very popular classic but i love her and i would love to fix her up a little.
Essentially though for now i would like to put on some rims...
So if anyone can help me out with what size rims (bolt pattern, et ,width etc) it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all again for taking the time to read this and hopefully help me out. -
Your stock wheel size was 14" x 5-1/2", with widths available in 5" and 6", also. The bolt pattern is 5-on-4-1/2". You will need a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth wheel. The Ford, although the same bolt pattern, will not work, as the center (register) hole is smaller of the Ford wheels.
Any Chrysler 15" wheel (except Imperial) will work for you, too. The '66 does not have a bunch of wheelwell room in back, so the widest you can likely use is an 8" wide wheel with 3-1/2" backspacing. That reeally takes it all up! You'll be happier with a 7" wide wheel all around, more than likely.
Now, if you plan on going crazy with 20s or such, I'm not the guy to ask, other than I don't like them!
