Bean Blossom drags,Indiana

This is an article that my friend Bob Palma sent me from the drags at Bean Blossom yesterday. Talks about Ralph Alden's '50 Pacemaker cpe. -
Clutch Guy,
I was hoping to see a few more Hudson people show up but only Tim did with his 50 Pacemaker Broughm. we were parked next to each other and the people got a good view of stock vs heavly modified.
The Studebaker guys treated us fantastic. The event went very smooth and the racing was fun. I did run the quickest times yet with a 10.428 @ almost 67mph being the best yet. If I could get that PaceMaker off the line quicker it could pick up a bunch. the 3.55:1 gears are not deep enough for 1/8 mile racing.
For now everything on the car is working right so more racing is in order.
have a good one,

Ahh, Bean Blossom! How well I remember it! I used to spend a week at church camp, near there, every year! Just down the road from bustling downtown Trevlac. (Hey! I just realized! Trevlac spells something, backwards!) Didn't realize there was a drag strip near there. But maybe there wasn't, back in '59.....

The Bean Blossom Drags were great fun. Ralph and his Pacemaker were fantastic to watch. The burn-outs were loud, the car was fast. Ralph made me proud to be a Hudson owner.
The Studebaker people were lots of fun too. Richard Poe and his wife Rose made sure everyone had a good time. I'll go back again!
