61 D100 Wheel Cylinder
-
I've got a 1961 Dodge pickup and I want to fix my brakes...but the left front wheel cylinder doesn't work at all, and it's got a SINGLE piston! Nobody at the parts houses can figure it out...Anybody know where I can get one? Can I (easily) change it over to a dual piston system?

The brakes on a '61-'71 D-100 front are the same. I just did the brakes on my '68 D-100 with new cylinders all around. Part numbers at O'Reillys are as follows:
WC24955, WC24954 and WC78734. I don't remember which were the fronts or the rears, but there they are. The first two numbers cost $10.64 each, and the last number was $8.56 each. Tell your parts guy he needs to be able to look at a book versus a computer! He should be able to cross-reference these if he doesn't carry them.
