This is a Hash manifold, so you will need the Hash exhaust portion too. Won't work with a step down exhaust maniflod.

If you're using headers, you don't need to make a cover for the bottom of the intake. This is a sealed chamber that is simply warmed by the exhaust manifold below it. In fact, you don't need the six bottom core plugs nearby. They were only there for the sand casting process used to manufacture them.

Learn something new everday. I never knew there was a difference in Hash manifolds. I never owned one, but I think there is a difference in the Jet twin h set up. Yup, the plate is no necessary, but the plugs look nicer when in.

What is the difference anyway, and did anyone but it yet?? I hope, Good price and all!!!!:rolleyes:

the quick way to recognize that it is a hash manifold is that the equalizer tube is cast internally to the manifold while the stepdown variety has the external bolt-on tube. This was done to fit the manifold between the shock tower and block so the stepdown won't work for the hash. As mentioned they are not interchangable without the appropriate exhaust manifold. if using the hash pair on a stepdown you will need to tweak the exhaust pipe a little as the outlet angle is different. also of note the hash outlet is 2 1/4" rather than 2"

Don't mean to steal your thread but I have a twin H intake for a stepdown I need to sell. The casting is broken where the exhaust manifold bolts on but would not affect the usability as long as aftermarket exhaust headers were used. Have the carbs, balance tube, oil bath air cleaners and linkage for the rear carb but no linkage for the front carb. If anyone is interested PM me.

The main difference is the Hash manifolds are held together by three bolts, the earlier stepdown manifolds were held together by four bolts. It was that 'outermost' bolt that was removed, along with moving the balance tube 'inside' as mentioned above that was needed to clear the Hash shock tower.
