Unleaded Gas in '74 Dart?
-
I bought a '74 Dart Swinger last week (for my kid). It runs fine and is well maintained.
But it just hit me today that MY first car (74 mercury comet) required leaded gas. Anyone know if a '74 Dart will need the fuel additive? Is that stuff even available any more? It's a 318 engine.
Thanks... -
Mopars had hardened valve seats in '74, and were designed to run low-lead/unleaded as early as 1971, even before those fuels were common. It's ran for 35 years, it'll run for another 35. Drive on, you're fine. No lead additive needed."The time has come", the Walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot,
And whether pigs have wings..."
