'29 Model A Phaeton - engine paint
-
Does anyone know the correct color to paint the intake and exhaust manifolds on a Model A? I was going to go with gloss black but wanted to see if there is a standard.
Thanks,
Nick -
The intake manifold is the same Ford green as the engine. The exhaust was left unpainted. Unless you are building a points car I would paint them the colors I like. My exhaust manifold is painted with some paint I got from Eastwood for exhaust.

It's not quite a points car, and the engine looks like it was painted black some time ago, so I suppose I'll just stick with black for the manifolds. I'm going to put hi-temp black on the exhaust and hope it doesn't boil off.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

We painted the engine Ford green, and the manifolds are Black.
It's your car, so the choice is yours.
I buddy of mine has a Phaeton and he painted Engine and Manifolds both Ford Green. The car looks slick!
(even though I don't call it stock as it was converted to 12 V and has a modern Alternator.)
